Choosing

Which robot should I buy?

The Compact for a flat or a smaller house, say two bedrooms, with framed windows. It costs less and runs from a simple remote. The Panorama for a bigger house with lots of glass: bifold and patio doors, full-height or frameless panes, high windows. It has four sprayers, a 100 ml tank, more routes and an app. Both need a plug socket, the rope and you nearby.

Is a robot worth it over cleaning by hand?

For ground-floor windows you can reach, a hand-held window vac costs less. A robot earns its place on glass that’s awkward to get to, like the outside of an upstairs window that opens.

Who makes them?

PuRuiKai makes both. We sell them, ship them from the UK and handle your order and questions.

Your windows

Which windows does it suit?

Flat, smooth glass on a side you can reach to place the robot. The Compact needs a frame; the Panorama works framed or frameless. Use the three-question check on our home page.

Does it work on frameless glass, glass doors or mirrors?

The Panorama does: frameless windows, full-height glass, patio and balcony doors, mirrors and shower glass. The Compact is for framed windows and framed glass doors only.

What about Georgian bars, leaded lights or textured glass?

Not suitable. The robot needs one flat, smooth pane to hold on and move.

Can I use it in the rain or the cold?

No. Use it on dry days, between 0 and 40 °C, on dry glass.

Does it clean the whole window by itself?

It cleans one pane at a time. You move it from pane to pane yourself.

Safety

Will it fall off?

It can. Wet glass, grime, stickers and film all make it more likely. Dry-wipe dirty glass first, tie the safety rope to something solid indoors before every run, check the knot, and stay nearby.

How long is the safety rope?

Each robot comes with its own safety rope and clip. The Panorama’s is 5 m. Tie it to something solid indoors before every run.

What happens in a power cut?

A backup battery keeps the robot on the glass while it sounds an alarm and flashes. On a full charge it lasts up to 10 minutes on the Compact and up to 20 on the Panorama. Take it down straight away: pull it back with care by the rope, keeping the rope close to the glass.

Do I have to stay with it?

Yes. Both manuals ask for an adult nearby while it runs. Children shouldn’t use it or play with it.

What about pets?

Keep pets away from it, as you would children, and stay in the room while it runs.

Using it

How long does it take to set up?

A few steps: fit the pads, add water, tie the rope, plug in and place it. The product pages walk you through them in order.

Is it noisy?

You’ll hear the suction fan the whole time it runs, and it beeps. About 68 dB on the Compact and 65 to 70 dB on the Panorama.

Does it need to stay plugged in?

Yes. Both robots run on mains power. The built-in battery is a backup for power cuts.

How long is the cable?

4.5 m on the Compact and 4 m on the Panorama. You may need an extension lead to reach the window.

Does it come with a UK plug?

Yes. Both robots come with a UK 3-pin plug.

Does the Panorama have an app?

Yes. Besides the remote, you can use the Tuya Smart app over Bluetooth to switch it on and off, pick a route, spot clean and control the spray. The Compact runs from its remote only.

Pads, water and care

Will it leave streaks?

It can. Three things help: a dry run first on dusty glass, clean pads, and a second pass with a fresh pad.

Does it clean the corners?

The Compact doesn’t: its round pads miss the corners. The Panorama is square, so it reaches every corner and edge.

Can I use window cleaner?

Yes. Both robots work with water or window-cleaning liquid.

How do I look after it?

After each run, pour out the water left in the tank, then wash and dry the pads. On the Panorama, also wipe the fan, the corner sensors and the wheels.

Where do I get spare pads?

Round pads for the Compact and square pads for the Panorama are on our Accessories page. The Compact comes with 10 pads and the Panorama with 4.
